Our lovely little dartmoor girl Faye has been rehomed! She took it all in her stride and couldn't wait to meet her new horsey friends. She has settled in happily with her new family but will be missed by us all at the centre

After all the rain these past weeks everywhere was getting rather muddy and our little herd of babies were in need of some fresh grazing. After a morning of hard work on Monday preparing it for them we could let them into their new field!

As you can see, we think they're happy with it!

A very sad loss

Unfortunately this week has not been a good one. It is with deep sadness we inform you that dear sweet Beau has had to be put to sleep after a long battle with Cushings, EMS and pedal bone rotation. Her condition was no longer managable and she was in pain even with medication and a strict diet. Run free sweet soul x

Better late than never!

Unfortunately due to technical difficulties we haven't been able to post on the website for a few days. This is in the process of being fixed but for now we best catch you up on the goings-on!

Our coffee and craft morning on the 21st of November raised an amazing £327.45! And we would like to thank all the ladies at Leicester Horsewatch and everyone else involved for your fantastic efforts!

It's been 10 months now since Buddy and Jango arrived at The Horses' Voice and just look at them now! They are just past a year old now and a right pair of cheeky monkeys.
The girls had their dental checkup this week with the lovely Dawn Moore. They were little stars, especially since it was only their 2nd time. Here's Faye being a very good girl even if she did keep trying to eat the tools!

Not- so- glorious mud!

The past few weeks have already made the fields very muddy indeed and we're being forced to accept winter is here The ponies don't seem to mind though, Warrior was caught having a muddy roll...

And Faye obviously decided she needed a mud- mask...
But even with the horrible weather the babies still made the best of the new grass we opened up for them, Thistle didn't know which bit to eat first!

Also just a reminder for anyone who would like to attend our coffee cake and craft morning on the 21st of November at Aylestone Baptist Church. Lots to do and plenty of stocking fillers and lovely Christmas crafts available. We will also be selling our Christmas cards and calendars.

Thanks

Amazing fundraising!

We are very pleased to say the curry night on Monday went really well and would like to say a big thankyou to everyone who came. We raised an amazing £552.50!

We would also like to thank Leicester Horse Watch for their fundraising efforts at Croft Car Boot sale, having raised us £142.40!

All the money raised will go towards feed and care of the ponies over winter so they would like to thank you all too!

The lovely Spider also went to his new home at the weekend, we wish him all the best and hope he enjoys himself. Here he is checking out his new surroundings.

Bilko says " I ordered breakfast for 8:00am, it is now 8:15, what do you think you're playing at?! " He's always so grumpy in the morning!
As the clocks go back this weekend we have been feeding the ponies gradually later so they don't notice such a sudden change although Bilko is still not impressed.

Also just a reminder about our curry night on Monday, there's still a few days to book in! For more information have a look on our facebook event page. Thanks

The sun is back!

After a few very rainy and muddy weeks the sunshine has finally come back, with the carers and ponies hoping it stays as long as possible!

Bilko looking very handsome with his winter clip which should keep him more comfortable as due to his Cushing's his winter coat gets very thick and just too hot for him. Enjoying the sunshine on his back for now though!

Cracker would like to hear your opinions on his new look!

And the lovely Jango has been out for his first solo trip this morning. He can get quite anxious leaving his friends so we didn't go far and he took it all in his stride. The tasty apple reward probably helped!

Also we will be attending the Naseby Village Hall Tack Sale this Friday night so please stop by.
Thanks

Beau enjoying a stroll

Beau, our little mare with pedal bone rotation has been recovering well, she is now allowed to go for walks to break up her box rest and looks forward to them every morning. We hope she will continue a steady recovery and can be turned out with the other ponies soon.
